A-MAC was the Construction Manager and Design/Builder for the $17,000,000 rehabilitation of the two existing buildings’ infrastructure, reconfiguration of the interior spaces, complete exterior skin replacement and site and right-of-way work. A-MAC was contracted by the City of Detroit to perform renovations creating the Tuskegee Airmen’s Museum. A historic barracks/administrative building located on the Historic Fort Wayne site was completely rebuilt from the studs up, including significant structural and system modifications to support the adapted re-use, displays, and specialized HVAC systems required to display museum quality artifacts in a controlled environment. Additionally, A-MAC was contracted to to build out 100,000 square feet of artifact warehouse space in the secured portion of Fort Wayne. This precisely temperature and humidity controlled environment is secured with airlock access to protect the contence.
A-MAC was contracted by the Corp of Engineers to renovate multiple existing warehouse facilities on the Selfridge Air National Guard Base to create storage spaces with varying levels of security. The firm also renovated several barracks and housing units as well as a renovation and restoration of the Bachelor Officers Quarters (BOQ).
A-MAC was contracted by the City of Detroit to preform substantial renovations and upgrades to the executive terminal at City Airport. Simultaneously A-MAC was issued a contract to construct the triturator building and several other specialty facilities required by the FAA to support the expansion of commercial jet flight service to other regional airports.
